Expanding on the genre of abstraction in the contemporary sphere, my work explores the visual energy and tension between colour vibrancies and the emotional response they provoke.

Drawing on my architectural background, I am influenced by the dynamic created by abstract geometries. These geometries mimic the residue of a system of self-organisation known as fractals; a fractal being a non-linear mathematical equation that when continually fed back into itself, forms a pattern that becomes self-similar, regardless of scale. I combine this with my interest in colour theory to create works that capture energy and movement. I am interested in the structural nature of things on the precipice of change, whether that is collapse or reformation.
