SHAUNAGH ASHBY

Shaunagh Ashby is an emerging Australian artist based on Cammeraygal land in Eora, Sydney. Encompassing painting, drawing and scultpture, her practice explores the interactions of colour, light and movement through dynamic compositional form and colour dialogues.

Drawing on her architectural background, her work explores the visual energy and tension between colour vibrancies and the emotional response they provoke. She is interested in the structural nature of things on the precipice of change, whether that is collapse, suspension or reformation.

Shaunagh Ashby completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at the National Art School in Sydney in 2023 and holds a Bachelor of Architecture (hons) from UNSW, Sydney. She worked as an architect for 25 years before returning to study fine art. She has four children. She is currently a resident artist at Oneplus2 Studios in Balmain.
